A team from Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Pokhara arrested Pokharel and engineer of the office Pabitra Mani Acharya along with cash Rs 900,000, said CIAA sources.
CIAA Pokhara Chief Kashiraj Dahal confirmed the arrest of Division Chief Pokharel and another engineer. According to anti-graft body sources, the engineers were taken under control while Pokharel was receiving money from contractor Rishi Acharya at own residence on a road contract deal under Road Office Pokhara.
Though CIAA has confirmed the arrest of Pokharel the graft amount is yet to be verified with investigation, Dahal said. "It is true that CIAA arrested Road Division Pokhara Chief and another engineer. As it is under investigation it could not be disclosed", he added.
