Nepal Bangladesh Bank’s Net Profit Declines with Increased NPL

The net profit of Nepal Bangladesh Bank (NBB) has decreased by 21.62 percent to Rs 1.24 billion in fourth quarter of the FY compared to Rs 1.58 billion of the corresponding period of the previous FY. The bank has distributable profit of Rs 449.1 million.

During the period, the bank earned net interest income of Rs 2.84 billion and operating profit of Rs 1.80 billion. During the period, the non-performing loan of the bank increased to 2.89 percent from 1.74 percent due to which its impairment charge increased to Rs 796.4 million from Rs 447.2 million.

The bank collected deposit of Rs 66.43 billion and extended loan of Rs 58.96 billion. The bank with paid-up capital of Rs 8.49 billion has reserve fund of Rs 4.11 billion.

The bank logged EPS of Rs 15, net worth per share of Rs 154.15 and P/E ratio of 13.92 times.

The bank has base rate of 8.62 percent and spread rate of 4.32 percent, CCD ratio of 69.71 percent, capital fund ratio of 13.17 and cost of fund of 6.37 percent.
