COVID-19: 764 new cases, 1,033 recoveries in past 24 hours

A total of 764 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed from 10,688 samples collected and tested in various laboratories across the country during the same period, the Ministry said in its routine virtual press meet today.

Similarly, 1,033 COVID-19 patients enjoyed full recovery in a day, taking the recovery caseload to 774,173 till date. The recovery rate now is 96.7 per cent.

Likewise, 10 people succumbed to the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours. With this, fatalities from the deadly infection reached 11,210 as of now.

Currently, there are 15,614 active cases in the country. Among them, 14,461 were receiving treatment in home isolation while 1,153 were being treated in institutional isolation.

While 313 COVID-19 patients were in ICU, 113 were in ventilator support and 241 were quarantined, shared the Ministry.

Meanwhile 43,941 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 today alone. Altogether 6,441,632 people have been fully vaccinated till date while 8,041,594 have received the first dose of the vaccine, according to the Ministry.
