Khagendra Sapkota, a tax officer employed at the Inland Revenue Office in Tulsipur, Dang, has been arrested with undisclosed funds amounting to Rs 2.6 million.
He was arrested with the money during a routine check at the airport at 7.30 am.
Meanwhile, another tax officer Deepak Paudel who was with Sapkota is on the run.
Sapkota has been kept at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Office, Nepalgunj for further investigation.
