Issuing a circular on Friday, the central bank increased the remittance limit to Rs 2.5 million. Such remittance should be deposited to the related beneficiary through licensed remittance companies.
The remittance is non-returnable amount obtained from foreign countries (individual or firm, companies or organization) in the form of sales, commission, fee and remuneration for any Nepalese or foreigner or registered firm, employee, organisation or branch offices.
Previously, such limit was Rs 2 million.
