Massive flash flooding originating from the Tibetan region has struck the northern border settlements of Timure and Syaphrubesi in Rasuwa district, prompting authorities to issue high-level disaster alerts across downstream districts.

In response to the sudden surge in the Bhotekoshi River, the government has instructed security agencies, district administration offices, local bodies, and disaster management units to deploy immediate rescue operations and remain on high alert to mitigate loss of life and property.

Local administration officials have urged residents in vulnerable riverbank settlements across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan districts to relocate to safer ground immediately.

Citizens are strongly advised to avoid non-essential travel and stay clear of active landslide zones and riverbanks. Residents must strictly adhere to warning notices issued by local administration bodies. All primary rescue and relief units have been pre-positioned to respond to potential emergencies along the Trishuli basin.

Preliminary assessments indicate the floodwaters originated across the border in Tibet, causing rapid water level rises downstream. Emergency response teams continue to monitor the river corridor as high-alert measures remain in effect.
