Bista defeated his closest competitor Ram Kumari Jhakri of the CPN (Unified Socialist).
As per Election Commission, Bista secured 28,476 votes while Jhakri secured 26,442 votes.
This is the fourth win for Bista in the area. He won elections in 1999, 2013, and 2017 in the same area.
