NEPSE Index Continues to Fall, Turnover Increases Marginally

On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has again decreased. On the day, the NEPSE index decreased by 6.51 points to close at 2,724.39 points.

Similarly, the sensitive index decreased 0.68 points, while the float index decreased 0.24 points and the sensitive float index decreased 0.19 points.

Although the NEPSE index decreased, the turnover on the day also saw a slight improvement. A total of 78,16,478 units of shares worth Rs 3.08 billion were traded in 45,519 trades on the day.

Today, the share price of Corporate Development Bank (CDB) rose the most by 14.26 percent on the day. Similarly, the share price of Nepal Republic Media has increased by 6.5 percent on the day, while the price of other stocks has increased by less than 4 percent. Shares of City Hotels fell the most by 6.84 percent on the day.

On the basis of transaction amount, City Hotel is in the top position on this day. The company's shares worth Rs 235.3 million were traded on the day. Similarly, shares worth more than Rs 90 million of Sahas Urja were traded on the day, while the turnover of Ankhukhola Hydropower Company crossed Rs 850 million.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of 4 sub-groups increased while the indices of 9 sub-groups decreased. The indices of development banks, finance, microfinance and non-life insurance sub-groups increased marginally on the day. The index of the trading sub-group decreased the most by 1.24 percent on the day.
