According to the project's promoter company, Sayapatri Hydropower Limited (SPHL), the flood in Daram River on September 25 damaged the poles and wires of the 33 KV transmission line from the project's switchyard to Nepal Electricity Authority's Harichaur substation.
According to the company, the power generation and transmission of the project has been completely halted since 11:00 pm on September 25 after the flood damaged the structure.
Power supply has been disrupted due to floods and media towers in Tarakhola Rural Municipality have also been disrupted since 11:00 pm on September 26. According to the company, the employees on the project site have not been contacted so far due to disruption of Nepal Telecom and other communication services.
In a letter submitted to NEPSE, the company stated that it could not get the exact details of the total physical damage caused by the loss of communication at the project site. According to the company, the exact situation and full details of the damage will be made public again as soon as contact is established with the employees.
Although the 33 KV transmission line and other physical structures have been damaged, all the structures are insured under the ongoing insurance system of the project. It is stated in the letter that the insurance claim process will be initiated after the assessment of the damage.
