According to Nepal Police, roadways in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Kavrepalanchok, Chitwan, Manang, Baglung, Rolpa, Kalikot, Gulmi, Myagdi, Mustang, Humla, Nawalparasai East, Palpa, Lalitpur, Lamjung, Tanahu, and Parbat have been affected by the heavy rains.
The Pasang Lhyamu Highway in Rasuwa has been totally disrupted after the floods from the Trishuli River significantly eroded its banks.
However, travel between Kathmandu and Syafrubesi in Rasuwa remains possible via one lane gravel route from Tokha-Chhahare-Bidur-Nuwakot, Darbar-Phalante-Chokade-Lachyang-Sarmathali-Parchyang-Bhorle-Zero KM Kalikasthan-Syaubari-Ramchhe-Sole-Dhunchhe gravel route, police said.
Public and private vehicles, except those for emergency purposes have been barred along the Tokha-Chahare road section in Nuwakot from 10:00 pm to 5 am. The restriction will remain in effect until further notice.
Traffic along the Prithvi Highway has also been affected by landslides at various locations.
In the Krishabhir Area, one-way traffic has come into operation following a landslide that brought down a large rock.
Similarly, a landslide at Panidhara of Benighat Rorang-10 has totally completely disrupted traffic.
Traffic along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan has been suspended until further notice due to landslides at various locations.
The BP Highway has also been obstructed by landslides at Charsaybesi in Roshi Rural Municipality-7 and Gimdibesi in Roshi-8, Kavrepalanchok. Similarly, the Araniko Highway has been blocked following a landslide at Pakucha in Dhulikhel Municipality-8, police said.
Vehicular movement has been stopped on various sections of the Narayangadh–Muglin road in Chitwan after landslides, until further notice.
The BP Highway is blocked after landslides hit Roshi Rural Municipality–7 Charsayabensi and Roshi–8 Gimbibensi in Kavrepalanchok. According to the police, Araniko Highway is blocked after a landslide occurred at Pakucha in Dhulikhel Municipality–8.
In Gandaki Province, vehicular traffic on the Besisahar-Khangsar road section in Manang has been banned from 6pm to 6am. The Chame-Besisahar road section in Manang is completely blocked due to landslides.
The Baglung Mid-Hill Highway and Kaligandaki corridor highway, Ghoreahi-Thawang-Rukum Shaheed Road in Rolpa, and Karnali Highway in Kalikot are also blocked because of landslides and debris.
In Gulmi, the Ridi–Tamghas Madan Bhandari Highway, Rudrbeni–Bamitaksar road, and various parts of the KaliGandaki Corridor Highway have been blocked due to landslides and flooded river.
Transportation has not been possible on the Beni–Jomsom route in Myagdi, Jomsom–Korala road in Mustang, the Karnali Corridor in Humla, the Kaligandaki Corridor in East Nawalparasi, the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa, and Kanti Highway in Lalitpur because of landslides and deposition of landslide debris on the road.
The police have reported that traffic is also blocked due to landslides on the Lamjung Besisahar–Manang road, the Mid-Hills Highway, Tanahu's Prithvi Highway, and the Maldhunga–Beni road section in Parbat.
It has been decided to restrict vehicular traffic on various risky roads in the country and completely close traffic on some roads.
The police have urged people not to travel unnecessarily on risky roads and to travel only according to the information from local administration and security agencies. (RSS)
