NEPSE Index declines, transaction volume also declines

On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index again decreased. The NEPSE index has been declining for the past five days.

On Monday, the NEPSE index decreased by 43.89 points to close at 2,513.42 points. Likewise, the sensitive index decreased by 6.68 points, while the float index decreased by 3.02 points and the sensitive float index decreased by 2.41 points.

Along with index, the transaction amount has also decreased. On the day, the market traded a total of 9,322,185 units shares worth Rs 3.648 billion. 

Today, the share price of Upkar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha rose the most by 13.16 percent on the day. Similarly, the share price of Ghorahi Cement Industry has increased by 7.5 percent and the price of NIC Asia Debenture 2091 has increased by 6 percent. However, shares of Mailung Khola Hydropower Company were traded at negative circuit level on the day. The company's share price fell by Rs 48.70 to Rs 276.30 on the day. The share price of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company fell by more than 11.5 percent on the day.

On the basis of turnover, Shivam Cements topped the list  on the day. Its shares worth Rs 263.8 million were traded on the day. Similarly, shares of Sarbottam Paints worth Rs 160 million were traded on the day, while the turnover of Reliance Spinning Mills crossed Rs 120 million.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of one sub-group have increased while the indices of 12 sub-groups have decreased. On this day, the indices of the manufacturing and processing sub-group increased marginally. The non-life insurance sub-group index decreased by 5.03 percent on the day. Likewise, the indices of other sub-groups decreased by more than 3 percent while the indices of hotel and tourism and hydropower sub-groups decreased by more than 2 percent.
