In a meeting held recently, Dr Chiranjibi Nepal, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank had announced of issuing Monetary Policy of the upcoming FY on June 12. However, NRB has to postpone the Monetary Policy unexpectedly.

The issuance of Monetary Policy gets delayed due to the absence of Finance Secretary Rajan Khanal. Finance Secretary Khanal is currently in America Visit and he is not expected to return before July 12.

Given that NRB requires approving Monetary Policy through its board of directors meeting in the presence of Khanal, the central bank cannot issue the Monetary Policy in his absence.

According to Laxmi Prapanna Niraula, Spokesperson of NRB, preparation for Monetary Policy has not been completed, thus, the central bank postponed its issuance.
